Welcome to italki. The site is primarily a marketplace where teachers offer classes and students pay for classes that fit their schedule and budget. In the public forum, people sometimes offer conversation in their native language in exchange for conversation in a target language. It can be difficult to find a suitable conversation partner because of incompatible time schedules. I have not had any success finding a conversation partner, so I pay teachers for conversation. You may have some luck at a specialized site for language exchange. Good luck!
