Speaking skill is the most important than other skills in English learning.

Listening, speaking, reading, and writing are four basic skills in English learning. From last March I started to learning English. I find that speaking skill is most important than other three basic skills. In the other word, the speaking skill is the most difficult. As an English learner, I think my reading skill is the best. E.g, I can read novels with native English writers about thirty to fifty pages one night. I have less misunderstandings. Now I can write articles about 1000 words. I can make less grammar errors. On YouTube channel, I can understand most of the videos without subtitles. Now when I meet my English teachers online, they can understand most of what I said. Sometimes I need to do a little more explains. But they told me that my speakings sounds strange. Yes, there are so many things in speaking skills. Maybe natives speaker cannot notice there so many things in speaking practice. But as an English learner, there are many challenges.

Last night I watched a video by an English learner which spend much time on English learning, and now he can use English in his workplace with confidence. Here are some of his experiences/opinions, his important opinion is that speaking skill is more important than other skills.

1. Quality over quantity.

2. Grammar and vocabulary is very important.

3. Change your brain structure by repeating.

For example, he said he repeated to pronounce a certain word 100 times to remember its pronunciation.

4. Do not reinforce your bad habits.

For example, he said some people work hard on English learning, but they just repeat the bad habits in English learning.

5. If you are not in an English environment, you won't be successful in English learning.

For example, he said he went to Philippines to learn English, and he improved a lot.

-----------------

Do you agree the above opinions? Or

what's your personal experiences in English learning?

What's your suggestions as an English native speakers?

Thanks in advance for your sharing something here.

I want to say something, but it is too late. (I gotta go to bed)I would say spoken is an easy part of learning when you use it daily.  You said you can read a lot and write a lot. but technically your sentence is basic structure. I don't want to pour water over you. but in my opinion, English on books is too formal. by contrast. spoken English is informal and vivid.

@Kinson: You are right. That is what I worried about.

I read English everyday. All things in my workplace are in English. Most of sentences are in basic structures. But when I read novels, there are many extra-length sentences. On dialogues, it seems there are some different structures.
