Which preposition should I use after the verb (punish) ?
Should I say :
All criminals were punished by a prison sentence.
or
All criminals were punished with a prison sentence.
Should I say :
All criminals were punished by a prison sentence.
or
All criminals were punished with a prison sentence.

All criminals were punished with a prison sentence, but in theory, the first one can be correct as well.

In my opinion, this sentence use "with" to be more reasonable.
