What does globalisation means for me Diversity and quick are synonyms of globalisation. Nowadays, I can get products from all of the world so fast. I don't need to travel to buy a Ray Ban sunglasses or eat an Yakissoba, I can find them easily on the closer corner. In Aracaju, 20 years ago, it was unimaginable, now this is commonplace. At home, I just need to click on TV's control to watch any American TV program, in the past, to have a TV was a luxery. Another important advantage of globalisation is the access to Internet network. In the past, to talk with my cousins who lives in Houston, USA, was so difficult and expensive. Now I spend many hours talking to them and it costs absolutely nothing, I just have to login in my facebook. The main problem is that globalisation destroys local culture and increases inequality gap. In my city, there is no space to develop our own culture, native singers aren't valued, they have been replaced for others that come from abroad. In addition, small local businesses don't have condition to compete with bigger other ones that come from abroad, so they end closing their doors and many of employees end unemployed.
