Lempira, Hondura's first national hero
Lempira was a lenca (name of the indians of Honduras in the time of Colombus) captain of war that fought against the spaniards during the 1530s, he was a mayan-lenca indian, he was a very brave man and sice he was young showed great courage and a deep love for his people, his land and his custums.

Lempira was murdered by treachery, the spaniards convinced him to meet with two spaniards representatives to negotiate peace, during the meeting, a musketeer shot to Lempira from a horse which ended the life of the lenca hero.
