Today's shocking NEWS ! I would like to tell you my today's shocking news ! Recently on the way to work, I always have a book of English idioms in my hand. I bought it very very long time ago. I don't even remember when I bought it, but obviously I didn't use it much at that time. But now I found plenty of useful idioms inside and it is my current favorite book. The book contains 32 lessons and I am at lesson 9 now. And there, this morning I found something shocking ! Did you know that "quite a few" means "MANY" !!!???? I didn't know that !!!! I use the word "quite" a lot. I use " a few" a lot. But I never imagined that these words can make an opposite meaning of "few" ! The most sadness thing is that this idiom is not for upper level. Pre-intermediate, maybe. :( Like I experienced today, there are lots of fun and surprises in studying English ! I like this language very much ! :D :D
