Shanghai Scholarship! About a month ago I found out that I had received a full scholarship to study abroad in Shanghai, China for an academic year. (Nine months) Needless to say, I am extremely excited for the opportunity! However, due to the scholarship being sponsored by the U.S. State Department and being focused on language immersion I am also quite nervous. In preparation for the program I would love to be able to spend more time conversing with native Mandarin Chinese speakers, preferably those who speak the Shanghainese Hu dialect.
