I am learning the song of Abba - I've been waiting for you So, I'm very anxious to begin learning English seriously! And now I want to understand this song by Abba. The text goes like this: I, I've been in love before I thought I would no more Manage to hit the ceiling Still, strange as it seems to be You've brought it back to me That old feeling I don't understand "hit the ceiling". The dictionary says - to be furious. But it doesn't suit here. Can you help me understand it? I, I don't know what you do You make me think that you Possibly could release me I think you'll be able to Make all my dreams come true And you ease me release me - what does she mean? release from what? you ease me - you calm, soothe me - right? You thrill me, you delight me You please me, you excite me You're something I'd been pleading for I love you, I adore you I lay my life before you I'll have you want me more and more And finally it seems my lonely days are through I've been waiting for you my lonely days are through - they have come to an end, right? I lay my life before you - you can do with my life what you want - right? I, I'm gonna make you mine You're gonna feel so fine You'll never want to leave me I feel you belong to me Someday you will agree Please, believe me This verse is clear.

"hit the ceiling" - this phrase usually refers to reaching the limit, not being able to go any higher. In this lyric it seems to me that the singer is saying she though that she had reached the limit on how she could feel in a relationship. But the object of the song has given her more than she though she would experience. "release me" - I think that here the singer is saying that it is possible the object of the song could "release" her from the limit on her emotions, possibly referring back to the "ceiling" metaphor. It's also possible she is speaking of being "released" from loneliness or sad feelings. All your other interpretations seem to be correct to me. I hope this helps, if you want to discuss further please let me know. I am learning Russian, though my Russian is not as advanced as your English. Perhaps we could help each other?

Hit the ceiling means to go as high as you can possibly go. Here it relates to her feelings and emotions. She is in love again and is as happy as she could possibly be. Release here is pretty personal to the singer. A guess would be releasing her from feelings that she will never fall in love again. Or release from a kind of depression.
