Popularity of imported programmes The amount of programmes that are watched in Spain coming mainly from the USA have increased during the last years, and that could be explained by different causes. Firstly, we may say that the quality and plot of these TV shows are beyond good, due to the increment of the money spent in the stories that are created by the different channels, the locations used to place the stories or the performances done by the different actors. Secondly, the globalization has been a principal cause of bringing these programmes to Spain and to be enjoyed for our society. Effects on local culture The influence of these TV shows is easily recognizable within Spanish society. If you walk throughout any street in Spain, you will hear someone talking about the last programme produced by the HBO or the AMC like Breaking Bad or Game of Thrones. The people have kindly accepted that this TV shows are much more important and so much better than our local TV shows. Recommended changes I would highly recommend bringing this series in original version, without any kind of translation in order to enjoy and to know how real and amazing are the voices of the main actors. Finally, trying to create a story based on a Spanish city would be marvelous and the people of Spain would be amazed if that could happen.

English-language TV programmes in Spain

Introduction

The objective of this report is to analyze the importance and the influence that English-language TV programmes have in Spain, to explain the effect that this kind of programmes have on the populationand to comment on any changes that could be recommended regarding these programmes.

Popularity of imported programmes

The amount of programmes coming mainly from the USA that are watched in Spain has increased during the last few years, and this could be explained by different causes. Firstly, we may say that the quality and plot of these TV shows are great (beyond good is correct, but sounds a little awkward), due to the increased money spent on the stories, the locations, and the different actors' performances. Secondly, globalization has been one of the main reasons for bringing these programmes to Spain for our society to enjoy

Effects on local culture

The influence of these TV shows is easily recognizable within Spanish society. If you walk down any street in Spain, you will hear someone talking about the latest programme produced by HBO or AMC, such as Breaking Bad or Game of Thrones. People have kindly ('kindly' sounds a little strange in context. I don't quite undertand what you mean) accepted that these TV shows are much more important and so much better than our local TV shows.

Recommended changes

I would highly recommend bringing these series in their original version, without any kind of translation, in order to enjoy and to hear how amazing the real voices of the main actors are. Finally, trying to create a story based on a Spanish city would be marvelous, and the people of Spain would be amazed (again, I'm not quite sure this is the right word) if that could happen.

Good job, and good luck on your C1 exam :)

As a side note, this was interesting for me to read, because I live in the US and hardly watch any American TV shows, but I love Spanish TV shows!

A qué te dedicas? Cuánto tiempo llevas aprendiendo inglés? Si quieres, podemos hablar por skype. Chao!
