On May 26,1830, the Indian Removal Act was passed. (passive voice). It granted President Andrew Jackson the funding and authority to remove ("relocate" may be better, but if you'd like to stick with "remove," I would specify a bit more. e.g., "to remove from their homes.") the Indians residing east of the Mississippi River, a goal he pursued with great zeal.
