Meaning of the Kurdish Song
Rojbas! I have just begun to learn the Kurmanji language. I only have a basic idea over the grammatical rules and vocabulary of the language. However, knowing Turkish I can understand some common words. While learning the language I happened to find this song called "Şev çû" I am trying to understand what the lyrics mean but having a hard time grasping some of them. If you could help me, I would be very appreciated!
Şev çû ma tu êdî hew tê lo Şev-night çû-passed ma-particle for question tu-you
1)Are "êdî" and "hew" linked and only mean "artik/anymore"?
2) What are "tê" and "lo"?
Ez ranazêm bê te kengî xew tê lo Ez-I(me) bê te-without you kengî-when xew-sleep
3) ranazem - sleep or not sleep?
Xanî bûye zîndan, tê da ranazêm Xanî bûye zîndan- The house being dungeon
4) what does "da" mean?
Ta spêde qîr û nalîn… tew tê lo Ta spêde-sabaha kadar, qîr û nalîn -katran/asphalt and feryat/wail
Thank you!
