Difference between "what is that mean" and "what does this/it mean"
I try to figure out what to say when i don't understand something . I often hear "what is that mean?" in a conversation. It is a bit confusing.

The correct structure is "what does that mean?" In spoken English, the pronunciation is reduced and may sound like "what is" or "what's." German: "was bedeutet das?

The correct sentences must be:
What does it/that/this mean?
What is the meaning (of something)?
You see, to be always go with noun or adjective. "Mean" is a verb.
