I don't want my English to fade away!

I have always considered myself a native English speaker just because I was born in the U.S. and lived there for some years, but for most of my life I have been living in Mexico (I think it sounds a little awkward like that, I would write 'but for most of my life I have lived in Mexico). (Is it time that I consider myself only a Spanish speaker?)

I am currently studying in college because it is way much cheaper (way cheaper is a colloquialism we use in speech, I don't think it's normally considered correct in written English) over here, and because most of my family is on this side of the river. I also work at home with what is called around here "green-goes", so I thought my English exposure was somehow not being that much limited that much. Plus I live 3 hours away from the border.

Anyhow I have just not forgotten how the other day I was giving some English advice here and a girl named Nicole kindly told me that I had made written an awkward sentence. I could not believe it, but she was right!

I love Spanish, Mexico and Latin America as a whole, but I don't want to forget English, at all! (I don't think anyone would allow that)

So I decided to let this out of my system through this notebook entry, write it down just as it comes out of me, with no grammar or spelling check, so while I'm at it, I can see if I made any mistakes; I guess this will either calm me down a bit, or increase my paranoia...

There are some mistakes, but if you really just wrote this without checking it then you have nothing really to be worried about. When people write quickly the likelihood of making mistakes is increased, even for people with a high level in a language. And if most are of your daily interactions are in Spanish (which presumably is the case if you have lived in Mexico for a very long time) then it's natural your English might slip a little bit. But it's still of a very good level. 

One thing is that languages and nationalities are capitalised in English, you seem to have got out of the habit of doing this because you don't use a capital letter in Spanish for these things.
