I have went to mall in Canada. Shop staffs are say "how are you?", "how are you doing?"(Im not sure). Im always up set to answer. they are ask me when what sould i say for them?

I have gone to the mall in Canada. The shop staff say: "How are you?" and "How are you doing?" (I'm not sure). I'm always upset to answer. They ask me these things, but what sould I say to them?
