Ven y Venga

¿Cuál es la diferencia entre "ven" y "venga"?

"Ven" is the "tú" form command of venir (and it means "Come!"), which you would you in familiar settings (family members, younger people, really good friends possibly, etc.).

"Venga" is the "Usted" form command of venir (which means "Come!" as well, but...you would use in formal settings, such as with people older than you, bosses, acquaintances, etc. (Note: Venga is also the subjunctive form of "venir", which is for later study)).

¿ Cuál Qué es la diferencia entre "ven" y "venga"?

Ven - imperative form from the verb "to come - venir"

For example:

Laura, ven por favor... quiero mostrare algo - Laura, come please. I want to show you something.

Michael, ven. Hay algo interesante en la televisión. - Michael, come. There is something interesting on the television.

Venga:

1. Comón

For example:

Venga, no seas así... dame otra oportunidad, por favor. - Com'on, don't be like this. Give me the second opportunity, please.

Venga, tú puedes hacerlo.  - Com'on, you can do that.

2. subjuntivo (in the present tense):

Quiero que él venga porque tengo ganas de besarle. - I want him to come because I wish to kiss him.

No quiero que ella venga, no es bienvenida en nuestra casa. - I don't want her to come, she's not welcome in our home.

I hope this helps.

Please, let me know if there's anything else I can help you.

Have a nice day.
