How I Meet Italki Hi everyone! I always liked the movies and songs in English, but I dont understand anything, Everytime that I want to watch a movie for example I have to change the language for portuguese (My native language), But is not the same. In Brazil we have a lot of schools that promise "after four years studying english you will speak like a native". But I dont want to learn from a teacher in a classroom after 4 years. So I watch some videos on Youtube from people saying how they learn english, and I meet this weebsite Italki. I liked the comments and I decided to try from here.

I always liked the movies and songs in English, but I dont don't understand anything, Everytime every time that I want to watch a movie, for example, I have to change the language for to Poortuguese (My native language), But it is not the same. Hi Victor, Welcome to the team. I wrote about this "promise" that we never get from these schools here: https://www.italki.com/discussion/125830 and also how to improve your skills here: https://www.italki.com/discussion/128253 I totally agree with you, you don't have to waste either your money nor your time with them (especially nowadays with so many things on the internet...), you only have to choose materials according to your needs and change them also according to your level needs. I am about to write three articles (in Portuguese to help brazilians) how to become your own teacher and I hope you like it. Soon they will be here. =)

Muito enganação dessas escolas de idiomas, estudo inglês por conta própria há 3 anos e já encontrei pessoas que estudam há 4 em escolas particulares que sabem bem menos que eu. Por que não consegue entender?, Por causa do vocabulário usado no filme que tu não sabes, ou por causa do sotaque?
