An essay: Travelling by plane In the era of globalization air transport has become an essential part of our life. Nowadays some people go on business trips by plane several times a week. For others travelling by air is the only way to visit their relatives. An enormous amount of goods is delivered by this type of transport every day. Although people argue about what will happen to it in the future. Those who are concerned about environmental issues, don’t like the idea of air travel development. Air pollution can result in global warming, raising the level of certain diseases and have other serious consequences. They insist on including the costs of the measures, which reduce the air pollution, in the price of tickets. Some people even feel that governments should issue laws to prevent this type of transport from extension. Others, however, think that air travel will continue the tendency of last two decades. There will be more planes, airports and airlines. The tickets will become cheaper, the frequency of flights will increase, and people won’t have to spend hours at the airport for registration. In the future taking a plane can be as easy as taking a bus and almost every city and town will have runaways for small aircrafts. Personally, I think it is likely to happen because air transport is fast, convenient and quite safe compared with travelling by car, for instance. People have already used to freedom given them by air travelling. They can travel from winter to summer for holidays, rise their business in several countries at the same time, move to another continent, knowing that they’ll will have a chance to see their friends and relatives quite often. I suppose nobody will be able to abandon this freedom. To conclude, there is no doubt that air transport has some negative effects, but from my point of view, the advantages outweigh disadvantages. We should improve technologies, invent new types of aircrafts, invest in air cleaning facilities, but give ordinary people an opportunity to ‘fly’.
