My son goes to school.
My son goes to the school.
Both of these sentences are correct but it depends on the situation in which you are trying to use the sentence. If you are trying to tell someone that your son goes to a particular school; say for example someone asks you ''Do you know anything about Peace school?'', then, you can answer with '' Yes my son goes to the school''
However, If you're only trying to tell someone that your son goes to school(everyday, on thursday, three times a week etc) , then the right sentence is MY SON GOES TO SCHOOL.
Now lets talk about why it is goes and not go. Your son is one person (singular) so the singular form of go which is GOES should be used.
If the sentence was talking about your sons(2 sons, 3 sons, 4 sons etc)(plural), then the plural form of go which is GO would be appropriate.
MY SON GOES TO SCHOOL,
MY SONS GO TO SCHOOL,
MY SON GOES TO THE SCHOOL,
MY SONS GO TO THE SCHOOL,
