동양에서는 요양원이 부정적인 이미지가 강하지만 요양원이 나쁘지만은 않습니다. 서양 국가에서는 요양원에 긍정적인 이미지가 더 강하기도 하고요. 나이 많으시고 치매도 있으신 어르신들을 일반 가족이 보살피는 게 생각보다 훨씬 더 힘듭니다. 그래서 전문 간병인이라는 직업이 현대사회에 존재하는 거고요.
