thrash = violent movement
thresh = to thrash wheat
Example: The fish thrashed in the net.
Example: The boy was thrashed with a stick.
Example: The farmer threshed the wheat to make flour.

Thrash - beat someone (can be literal or figurative)
Thresh - extract the grain from the ears of wheat by beating them
