OR I heard that the average American drinks 5 L........
Well written. Coca Cola is pure poison Joshua. Put a nail into it and see what happens.

If you are referring to one American that drinks 5 litres of coca cola i.e. one particular person who is American then you would say, " I heard about this American who drinks 5 L of........every day." Now we know for sure that it is only one person. When you say, " I heard that an American drinks 5L........." it can imply that it is "every" American. That is why I changed it initially the way I did. I automatically understood this as either "every" American or the average American. But you want to say only ONE SPECIFIC PERSON. So I changed it now again. By the way Coca Cola is not a healthy drink. It's full of sugar and is very bad for the teeth and the brain. Sugar causes many health problems. It's very addictive too. If you put a nail into coke it will rust. If coke can rust a nail, just imagine what it does to the body. Food for thought ( excuse the pun) :-)
