I borrowed an English book in a library two weeks ago. There are five levels there and I choose the easiest book. I tried to read it but I can't read it smoothly. Maybe the story is written with easy English words because it is for beginners. I can understand each words but sometimes I can't understand the sentences. Then I don't know about the story and I can't continue to read the book. I have to return it in two weeks. I wonder if I read whole chapters and understand the story. I want to read the book with joy.

Maybe the story is written in simple English words because it is for beginners. I can understand each word individually but sometimes I can't understand whole sentences. So I don't know anything about the story and I can't continue to read the book. I have to return it in two weeks. I wonder if I'll be able to read whole chapters and understand the story. I want to enjoy reading the book.

The part where you said, "Maybe the story is written in simple English words because it is for beginners." I don't understand what you mean exactly by this part and I couldn't correct it based on my guess without changing the meaning you had in mind but here is my guess If you meant that it's supposed to be easier for you then you should say "even though the story is written in simple English words I couldn't understand it"
