“许多大公司都在微博上试水”中的“试水”应该是“（在新的领域）尝试做某事”的意思，翻译成英文的话attempt对吗？日语的话应该怎么翻译比较好？

英语:make attempts to do something或是attempt to do something...还有一种其实就是test the water
日语：目前不知道，我们日语课大二才开课，所以....:P
