What's the difference between 'benefit' and 'compensation'? Thanks.These words were mentioned in HCM system,so i think there would be some difference between them ,i will appreciate some professional persons who could help me with this question!

意思不大一样...compensation表示“补偿(赔偿物),赔偿金,补偿金”等等...而benefit是"1.优势,益处;2.福利费(政府对失业者,病人等提供的补助金),3.(公司提供的)奖金,福利,4.慈善活动"

If you are not referring to financial benefits or compensation then 'benefit' means a good or helpful result or effect. 'A benefit of being a member of the club is that you don't have to queue at the entrance.' and 'compensation' means something good that acts as a balance against something bad or undesirable. 'He felt that the only compensation to moving to the city was that it would be easier to find a job.'

Compensation: an employee gets a salary at the end of each month. Benefits: an employee gets a salary and benefits (generally non-financial) in the form of having 10% discount when going to shop at .... store or 3 days off a month etc...
