What's the difference between 'benefit' and 'compensation'?
Thanks. These words were mentioned in HCM system,so i think there would be some difference between them ,i will appreciate some professional persons who could help me with this question!
If you are not referring to financial benefits or compensation then 'benefit' means a good or helpful result or effect. 'A benefit of being a member of the club is that you don't have to queue at the entrance.'
and 'compensation' means something good that acts as a balance against something bad or undesirable. 'He felt that the only compensation to moving to the city was that it would be easier to find a job.'

Compensation: an employee gets a salary at the end of each month.
Benefits: an employee gets a salary and benefits (generally non-financial) in the form of having 10% discount when going to shop at .... store or 3 days off a month etc...
