Do you understand why Chihiro was called SEN(N)　in "Spirited Away"?

It's because the kanji version of Chihiro is written with the "sen" character, which looks like this 千. Her full name is 千尋, so when the second character is taken away she's left with Sen, which means a thousand I guess.

nope, i thought it was just a name they gave her when they took her old one away so she cant leave the island. What does it mean?
