what is the difference between habitant & inhabitant, solve & resolve?

Inhabitant = a person or animal that is a permanent resident of a particular place or region.
Habitant = a less common word for inhabitant.
Solve = to find a solution to or to work out a correct solution to (a problem).
Resolve = to reach a decision or make a determination / to remove or dispel (doubts)/ to bring to a usually successful conclusion: resolve a conflict.
