what is the difference between"destroy" and "damage",please?

Destroy means : damage something badly and it cannot be used anymore ;ruin completely.
Damage means : injury or harm that reduces value or usefulness

The word "destroy" implies total devastation. The word "damage" only implies harm, extent unclear.

destroy can be used for physical good only
while damage can be used for non physical goods and physical goods both
for ex The building is destroyed
The car was damaged
the reputation of the company was damaged
