Because all television teaches that Superman is a Super Hero? Gandhi did wonderful things, wonderful things said, and fought for a better world without violence. Why the superhero is Superman? He know hunger in Africa? He know the labor exploitation of ordinary people around the planet earth? He fights against the deforestation of our natural resources? He knows that 45 percent of our nature has been Deforested?

A superhero isn't really defined as an omnipresent being as you are describing, just a particular being with a certain power that gives it an advantage over a normal person, and uses that power for the greater good.

Superman is escapism. Isn't that obvious?

Superman is just an image used to describe superheroes but we have real and unsung heroes in the present. URL: http://teacher-keith.blogspot.com

You have a lot of good ideas. It is good to stop deforestation, hunger and exploitation. In answer to your question, the story of superman is very popular, possibly because it has always been man's dream to fly. Superman can fly, and he does use his super-powers for good reasons.
