Haha i read that in a newspaper today.
Medir el aceite is like: check that everything is well
People is cheking president is doing WELL his job.

"Le miden el aceite al presidente". Nunca he oído esa expresión. ¿De dónde la has sacado?
Echándole imaginación, a lo mejor significa que el presidente "pierde aceite" ( = dice tonterías, está loco/tonto...) y hay que medirle el nivel de aceite perdido ( = el nivel de "tontería" ) En este caso, habría que "medir el aceite" a muchos presidentes...
