and what does it actually mean in Japanese? In Chinese it means cute

to deconstruct 萌 into hiragana, it's もえ (mo-e) but I'm sorry, I do not know the meaning of it as 萌
As もえ I think it means something like "burn" but as 萌え I think it means... "fetish" o_o sorry if I'm wrong, I just done some quick research to help you!

I don't use もえ(萌え,Moe ) .
But culture is always change the words & world.
Don't hasitate use it.
Otaku is a one of a Japanese culture.^^

萌=Moe(もえ)
This is a slang. The meaning is same as Chinese, cute.
Well, we don't usually use this word in our conversation. This word is often used among "Otaku" in Japan.
