Can't is [kent] or [kant]?
Как правильно произносится can't? Столько споров по этому поводу. Может быть, это английская и американская версии? Или вообще разные слова?
Кое-кто говорит, что [kant] - это вообще что-то неприличное.

In US English, "can" and "can't" have the same short vowel sound. Pretty logical.
In UK English, "can't" has a long vowel sound. Keep the vowel long and it will never be mistaken for a swear word.

For U.S. English, the pronunciation for "can't" is [kænt] and for "can" is [kǝn]. (I'm using the international phonetic alphabet to write the pronunciation.) It's very important for ESL students to learn how to say the [æ] in "can't." Otherwise, Americans hear the word as "can." That's the real problem for my students (and not that other word you mentioned; LOL).
