似ている = similar 類似している = resemble
It is usable in the same meaning.

似ているで正解です。他には、「同じような」とか「類似している」とか「そっくり(同じ)」ぐらいですか。

Hi Lulurin, let me give an example. If you want to say that Japanases Kanjis are similar from Chinese Kanjis you can say> 日本語の漢字は中国語と似ています。I hope this helps
