How to use the word "couple" correctly?
What's the correct translation of "一对夫妻 The husband and his wife", should it be a couple, two couples or a pair of couples? Thank you!can I use it like this: A couple were having supper...../ A couple was having dinner.....

They are a couple. It is a group noun, but countable, so we must say "the couple was having dinner".

If your telling a joke or an anecdote, you could use 'a couple' for this phrase. However, when referring to a specific couple, then use 'the'
