En España decimos "guapo" o "bonito" igual que "lindo" en hispanoamérica. Depende del país en el que te encuentres, es mejor usar una palabra u otra, pero las dos se entienden perfectamente en todas partes.

In Spain "lindo" means "cute" and "guapo" means "handsome"
"Lindo" is more commun for animals and "handsome" for folks.
For example:
This cat is cute (El gato es lindo)
The boy is handsome (El chico es guapo)

you can use "lindo" with things or people.
But you only can use "guapo" with people.

exactly, lindo is more used in Sudamerica.
Here in Spain we never use 'lindo'. Maybe for cute animals like a cat.
