WHAT'S THE MEANING OF "Ponto came with a bound."?
I read this sentence in McGuffey Readers.The full sentence is "Ponto came with a bound,and jumped into the pond.".I was wondering what the "bound" in this sentece means.

He ran to the pond with jumps or a final jump. A bound is a running and jumping, in this case.
