A temptress is usually a woman who tries to temp someone, or persuade someone, to do something they otherwise would not do. The temptress woman will usually be quite attractive.

It refers to a woman who tempts someone to do something, whether it's good or bad. Also a temptress can be portrayed as a sexually attractive woman who sets out to allure or seduce someone. For example, Mata Hari the female spy was usually described as a temptress.
