synonymous translation would be: look / seem / appear.
another Tagalog (formal yet classic) version of "parang" is "tila". The most to equal is "mukha" (to appear).
to translate in different version: "you appear / seem / look to be in trouble":
'mukhang nababagabag ka.'
'parang nababagabag ka yata.
'tila yatang nababagabag ka'
:)
