I was wondering, how should I start learning Spanish?
I studied a small amount of Spanish in high school, but this is pretty much all gone at this point. What should I learn first as basically a complete beginner again? How should I get started again? Should I jumped straight into the most common vocabulary with a frequency list or start with something else? Will someone come up with a study plan for my to work with. I want get some basic Spanish skill down in 6 month so that I can visit Costa Rica and the South Americas.

my ways to learn english, maybe u are interesting to do the same...

1_Play RPG games.
2_Buy Diccionary and read how u want, i read 4 o 5 times at the day, 4 o 5 words for time.
3_Find some friend who wanna learn spanish, and practise with him, try say some expression.
4_Do karaoke, search music in spanish with lyrics on youtube and start!
5_Ask all, ask u teacher if u have, for this we pay :)

and the last is a way that i dont use, but is nice if u dont know nooothing in spanish,,,
put posters on thing, for example, in a table put a paper with "Mesa", to look the table and know that this is "mesa"

Wow I posted this question so long ago, about one year.  So here is what I did.  I traveled to Latino America and stay in Guatemala to study for 2 weeks.  While staying in a homestay with a all Spanish speaking family.  I then traveled in only Spanish speaking countries for the next month throughout Central America.  Now I have a low-intemediate understanding of Spanish and can get around okay in Spanish speaking countries.. I shall start writing and practicing Spanish on iTalki also starting soon.

Hey man, maybe you can start listening to music en Spanish, and checking the translation in Chinese. I think it' s bery useful. Other way is to read some popular  novels in Spanish, and compare it with the  translation in ypur native language, in your case Chinese. I sure yu can find the 2 versions on the internet if the novels you choice are popular.
