Natasha,
Frontiersman (more common) or Frontierman refer to people who live on the frontier. It is not a synonym for borderguard.
The words "frontiersman" and "frontierman" can be found in the unabridged Oxford Dictionary. They are chiefly used in the US.

I have never heard of the word "frontierman", however I think the word "frontiersman" (with an "s") might exist. It sounds old-fashioned though and certainly not in everyday use. It would mean somebody who lives on or near a border.
If you are looking for a synonym for border guard, we usually use something like "border security" or "immigration officer".
