"Hi sweetie" は親しくない女性にも使いますか?
それほど親しくない男性から、メールで"Hi sweetie" と呼びかけられました。
私は"Sweetie"という言葉は恋人や家族、親しい友人に使う言葉だと思っていたので"I am not your sweetie, don't call me that." と返事をしました。
そのあと彼からの返事はありません。
"Sweetie"という言葉はまだそえれほど親しくない女性にも使いますか?
また、私の対応は間違っていたのでしょうか?

You're completely right - it's not appropriate for a man to say "sweetie" to a woman he doesn't know. You gave the right answer.

The word "sweeite" can be used in terms of if you are in a serious relationship. Most men will their women "sweetie" or women will call a guy "sweetie" if they want something from a man or use a man for other affairs. Although "sweetie" can be offensive to both men and women also referred to as "nick name".
