What is the meaning of 'hit the sauce" What is the meaning of "hit the sauce"in this sentence? I think that she has begun to hit the sauce since her husband last his job.Thanks in advance

"The sauce" is a euphemism for alcohol (usually strong spirits). "To hit the sauce" means to start drinking heavily.
