watching the episode with monica's thunder of Friends ,i wonder what' the meaning of "thunder" is in that episode?

It comes from the expression, "Stealing Someone's Thunder". In this case, thunder is an idiomatic expression for "an act that merits attention". To steal someone's thunder means to steal the attention that would otherwise have been bestowed upon someone else.
In this case, Monica expected to be the center of attention because she and Chandler were getting engaged, but this "thunder" was stolen by the announcement that Ross and Rachael were getting back together.
