Hello June
In French there are different ways to ask or give the date of the day.
To ask about the date of the day you can say:
1) On est le combien aujourd’hui ?
2) Nous sommes le combien aujourd’hui ?
3) C’est le combien aujourd’hui ?
To give the date of the day, you can say:
1) Aujourd’hui, on est le 4 janvier 2013.
2) Aujourd’hui, nous sommes le 4 janvier 2013.
3) Aujourd’hui, c’est le 4 janvier 2013.
