What is the difference between 'colegio' and 'universidad' in Spanish? College vs. University

Colegio are the first 12 years of study (starting at 6 y.o) or 13 in case of thechnicals school. University is the place where yo go to get profesional careers.

colegio = highschool ( 13 years to 17 or 18 yeras ) universidad = university
