As for writing skills, I suggest that you write a daily Notebook entry here at italki and people will correct it.

Read more. It's difficult to write if there is no model in your head to follow.
When you sit down to write, brainstorm some ideas about the topic you're writing about. Look at your ideas and develop the strongest ones into topic sentences for your paragraphs. Organize your paragraphs. For example, if you're describing your house, you might organize the information from front to back. If you're talking about how to make a cake, you would write about each step.
Writing is often more formal than speaking. Some people don't feel as comfortable writing. With daily practice, you can get faster.
