Huh, it's one of the more difficult questions to answer for the people who don't speak spanish, but I try. Mmmm... soy (ser, soy, eres, son...) is used to describe a feature (physical, psycological, spiritual...) that DEFINE YOU AS A PERSON. examples(you always are like that): Soy gordo. Soy flaco. Soy moreno. (physical) Soy paranoico. Soy un demente. (psycological) Soy amoroso. Soy iluso. Soy enojón. estar (estoy, estas, están...) is used when you want to say HOW YOU ARE IN A SPECIFIC MOMENT (physical, psycological, spiritual...) examples (only now you are like that): Estoy gordo. Estoy flaco. Estoy moreno. (physical) Estoy paranoico. Estoy demente. (psycological) Estoy amoroso. Estoy ilusionado. Estoy enojón. estar is used, also, to say you are in a place: Estoy en Acapulco. Estoy en el trabajo. Estoy en la calle. I hope I have helped you.
