If you're talking about the actual documents, you can use the plural.
For example: The conference materials (videos, PDF files, etc.) were uploaded to the website.
If you're talking about the contents of the documents, you keep it in the singular.
For example: Please go over the material we discussed today.

Materials - any tangible items and the answer to your question if material is singular or plural it is singular.. Unless you add s to make it plural.
