"marry" does not require the preposition "to" when it means "take someone as a spouse." Example: "She married him in 1995." However, "marry" can take "to" when a person gives someone as a spouse to someone else. Example: "In some cultures parents have the right to marry their daughter to a man that they choose." "marry" can also mean to perform a wedding ceremony. Example: "The priest married the couple in Church."
