How do you translate" one has to stay active" in Spanish?

I would say: "uno tiene que mantenerse activo" - Note Spanish is not my first language and I don't recall seeing 'uno' used in this way in text books but my (Spanish-speaking, Latin American) wife tends to say things like this so I copy her!
