can we use by far with comparative adj? I mean which one is true? A is far/ by far bigger than B.

Jack is big, but John is bigger by far.

A is far bigger than B.
A is bigger, by far, than B.
A whale is by far the biggest thing here. (I cheated: superlative, not comparative)
